At an altitude of 1550 meters, Blizzard Brewing Company brews with fresh snow-melt fed spring water sourced from underground aquifers. Located in the Victorian Alps at Dinner Plain, it is 10km from the ski lifts at Mt Hotham, and 50 meters from the Cobungra ski lift.
Blizzard Brewing Company founder Mark Hubbard hails from the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, where there is a strong craft beer tradition and a long history of breweries being located at altitude in ski resorts. As a passionate skier, hiker and cyclist, Mark was drawn to the High Country of North East Victoria, where the only thing needed to make the Alpine experience complete was a brewery above the snowline. So Blizzard Brewing was born to bring that particular aspect of the Rocky Mountain Alpine experience to the Victorian Alps.
There is another reason for situating a craft brewery in Victoria's High Country - The Water. At Blizzard, Today's Powder is Tomorrow's Beer. Basically, we brew with snow-melt. Fresh, pure Victorian Alps spring water, sourced from the high altitude aquifers of Dinner Plain. Water is the main ingredient in beer, and ours is the purest available. No other brewer in Australia can source their water as we do, to enable us to bring you Beer Above All. So come into the brewery to enjoy the Beer From Up Here. Whether in the Lift Line Tap Room, The Mile High Beer Lounge or the Overlook Tasting Deck, we offer you:
Hand Made Craft Beer on Tap

COVID - 19 & Ski Season:
Back to lock-down V2. Open for takeaways. Call ahead to make an appointment.
Not Now. Sorry - a pandemic is not a good time for you to go into our pristine production area. But you can look at it from your seat in the Tap Room.
We are an authentic experience. 100% of our beer is hand made in-house at our single venue, by staff who are passionate about what they do, working for an independently owned family business.
Yeah, we get it, many people automatically think that premium craft beer is meant to come in a bottle, not a can. But – we want you to enjoy our beer as fresh as it can possibly be away from the brewery. Good packaging helps – it will protect and contain the beer for enjoyment away from its source, while leaving it brewery fresh. This is especially important for craft beer like Blizzard that is made from all natural ingredients without pasteurization and without added chemicals and preservatives.
Bottles, even coloured bottles, are susceptible to penetration by ultra violet light, which hastens the spoilage of beer. UV cannot penetrate tinnies. And with today's technology, there is no leeching of the aluminium packaging to spoil the taste. As such, cans are a superior packaging product. Furthermore, when you are on the go, you can take tinnies with you without risk of breakage, and they are collapsible after use. Tinnies take up less room for the same volume of content. In your backpack, to the trucks that bring empties up the mountain for us to fill, space counts.
